Walnut Coffee Table- Big Coffee Table- Live Edge- Handmade Furniture- Steel Legs- Hairpin Legs- Live Edge Slab- Natural Edges- Rare Wood

This live edge coffee table is made from a large and rare slab of Black Walnut. This massive crotch-cut slab was sustainably harvested from an urban tree fellen in Georgetown, Kentucky. It's rare to see walnut that's capable of producing slabs this wide (41" max width) and with it's age comes plenty of character. The slab of wood features bold "S-shaped" grain patterns (signs of growth stressors), black line spalting, figuring and a pronounced "V" shape/fork where the branches separated from the trunk. It's like the heart of the entire tree & I've thrown an equal amount of heart into finishing this beautiful giant. The top has been kiln dried, planed flat, sanded smooth and finished in multiple coats of a proprietary oil-based finish in a satin sheen. The film finish will protect the wooden top from moisture, scratches and daily living in its new space. Who needs magazines on a coffee table when you can stare into the surface of this beast and see something different every day? :) The top was married to four steel hairpin legs to keep the focus on the table top. It's practical, functional, strong, large and visually interesting. The finished piece averages 39" L x 31" W x 17" H. The top portion is a whopping 41" across and the bottom portion is 22" across. The table top itself measures 1 3/8" thick. Feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns!
