Get out and EXPLORE with this handmade hiking stick/ walking stick made from a 100+ year old reclaimed Kentucky tobacco stick! Named 'Scar' for its sawmill mark remnants that pepper all four sides of the stick. This stick was hand-split from a log and then milled over a century ago and used in agricultural production. It was capable of holding 4-5 green (wet) tobacco plants as they were hung to dry in the barn rafters. The stick is made from White Oak, which is known for its strength and durability. This piece was gently sanded, stained a dark brown color and finished in multiple coats of a hand-rubbed oil based film finish to protect against moisture and scratches during your journey. This one measures around 51 x 7/8" x 7/8". The ends are round and tapered in shape, but the majority of the stick has a square appearance. The wood features: knotholes, a pleasant texture from the mill marks (scars) that were left intact and the patina of its 100 year old life working on the farm. This stick is lightweight, yet extremely strong! Many choose to only display my walking sticks in their homes, but by all means, feel free to follow the paths of your elders or cut a new trail with your own handmade walking stick enriched with agricultural history! All hiking sticks handcrafted from Kentucky LiveEdge come with a 1 year warranty, good for a complimentary refinish/ maintenance within 1 year of purchase (buyer responsible for shipping).
*No rubber feet or boots are included with our walking sticks. The nicks and dings you collect on the bottom of the stick tell the story of your journey. Make it a good one!
