These wooden risers are made from 40-100 year old Kentucky tobacco sticks that were reclaimed from a family barn. They can be used to hold a small plant, flowers, vase, to display jewelry and smaller crafts for photo shoots, in the kitchen to hold your favorite olive oil, to hold a candle, etc. The wood is a mix of poplar, white oak and sycamore. The surface of each has been planed flat, sanded smooth and stained a darker walnut color. The legs are two more tobacco sticks that run the length on opposing sides. The wood has been treated with multiple coats of a satin sheen Zero VOC film finish to protect against scratches and moisture. There are also felt pads attached along the bottom to protect your counter, table or surface used. While the surface is nice and smooth, the edges still display the patina of sawmill marks made on the wood over 40-100 years ago. I've put a ton of time and love into these small pieces. Breathing life into these agricultural artifacts is rewarding and seeing the numerous ways these mini-risers are used by my customers is equally is satisfying!
