This round and modern coffee table is made from a single live edge slab of Maple. The cross-cut slab (tree slice/stump/tree slice) was cut in half, separated, and reconnected with dual ebonized stitches. The natural wood slab was then ebonized with dyes and stain to resemble the Japanese technique of Shou Sugi Ban (charring the wood) without degrading the strength of the wood. It's a visually interesting piece that has an organic, yet bold contemporary design. The tabletop has been flattened, sanded smooth and finished in numerous rounds of a Zero VOC satin poly. The live edged and stitches were altered in color slightly less than the surface to give a nod to the natural and organic slab used. There are a few minor drying checks, but nothing substantial on this kiln-dried tabletop. The top is fitted to four tapered folded steel legs that have been sprayed in a satin black poly for protection. There are also felt pads on the bottom of the legs to protect your floors. This coffee table is modern, monochromatic, industrial, contemporary and transitional. It is a statement piece geared towards unique interior designs, living rooms, office spaces or homes. Ready to ship! Measures approximately 31 5/8" x 30" x 19 1/2". The slab top is a stout 2 3/4" thick. Please feel free to send any questions or request more pictures. Thanks!
