This is one beautiful and LARGE live edge coffee table (please view measurements below). The top is a round/ circular slab of Big Leaf Maple Burl & it is packed with amazing organic oddities! The highly figured live edge slab displays a dazzling chatoyance across the surface. Similar to a hologram or ripples on the water, the wood grains appear to move when tilting your head and viewing the surface. It also features: ingrown bark, interesting round bumps along the edges (common on burls), an unusual section along the edge with a void and separate branch & simply amazing brown, tan and golden colors throughout! This monster slab of wood has been kiln dried, planed flat on both sides, sanded smooth and finished in multiple coats of a proprietary oil based film finish to protect against moisture and scratches. Most of the ingrown bark, knots and drying checks have been filled with a dark tinted resin. The bold and organic table top has been paired with a trio of raw steel hairpin legs. The steel legs have also been clear coated for protection. This pairing allows focus to remain on the striking table top, yet also gives a nod to Mid Century Modern, Industrial and Minimal designs.
